Harmony Builders is a humanitarian initiative that empowers artists in Gaza, Lebanon, and other war-torn regions to act as agents of resilience and healing. By employing artists to lead music-based psychosocial activities and skill-building classes for children and communities, we ensure that they generate some income while contributing to their community’s well-being. These artists use the power of music to provide emotional relief, foster learning, and instill hope in communities that are deeply affected by war.
Harmony Builders provides structured activities that combine the therapeutic effects of music with critical skill development. Artists lead group workshops, including music therapy sessions and instrumental classes, which create a safe and supportive space for children to express themselves, process trauma, and build confidence. These activities go beyond simple lessons; they create moments of connection, resilience, and joy for children and their communities, reminding them of the power of shared cultural expression.
Through Harmony Builders, local artists become more than musicians; they become community leaders, mentors, and advocates for change. By employing them to lead these activities, we enable artists to earn a livelihood amidst challenging circumstances while serving as a lifeline for their communities. This approach allows them to teach, perform, and unite the community, spreading hope and preserving cultural identity despite adversity.
Harmony Builders is a vital source of support, resilience, and cultural preservation in regions affected by war, like Gaza and Lebanon. Music is both a coping mechanism and a tool for education, offering community members a way to experience moments of relief, learning, and unity. Each session reinforces the importance of maintaining cultural roots and provides an environment where children and artists alike can experience normalcy, even in times of crisis. Harmony Builders stands as a testament to the enduring power of music to bring healing, connection, and strength to communities in need.
